This guide shows you how to upgrade the SSD device for your notebook and move the pre-installed system to your new installed SSD.



1. Move the Pre-Installed System:



If your unit has the MSI pre-installed system, run the “BurnRecovery” application on your system to create the system recovery USB flash drive before adding the SSD. Use the created system recovery USB flash drive to move the pre-installed system to the new SSD and enjoy the upgraded system performance afterward.

2. SSD Upgrade: 



To know the supported SSD specification for your unit, visit the Product Specification page on MSI website or refer FAQ_1117 .



*MSI recommends doing the SSD upgrade at the MSI local service center. Users not only can keep their original warranty, the official upgrade can help to avoid the possible compatibility, low performance or thermal related problems while provided the guaranteed optimized performance for the upgraded SSD.
