Check the power adaptor specification for MSI laptop



Method A:




  1. Visit the MSI website, and search for the laptop model in the right-top corner.

  2. Select “SPECIFICATIONS” page.

  3. Find “AC Adaptor” and check the adaptor wattage.



*Note: MSI recommends using the original adaptor bundled with the laptop or purchasing a compatible part from MSI. The adaptors with the same wattage may have different voltage specifications.





Method B:




  1. Find the label on the power adaptor.

  2. Find “Power Output” and multiply Voltage with Current to get power output wattage.

Safety tips for using a power adaptor




  1. Always use the power adapter and power cord that came with the laptop, or compatible parts purchased from MSI.

  2. When the adaptor is plugged in while in use, prevent moving the laptop to avoid the adaptor from loosening and causing any damage.

  3. Place the power cord and adaptor on a flat and stable surface and keep away from the aisle to avoid any potential damage.

  4. Do not place anything on top of the adaptor or power cord.

  5. Do not wrap the cables when the charger is plugged into the laptop.

  6. If a power cord with 3-prong plug came with the package, always plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) AC outlet. Do not remove the grounding pin of the power cord.

  7. Wrap the cables properly and DO NOT over-bend the cables to avoid any risk of damage.
