Answer
This guideline applies to MSI system devices such as Notebook and Handheld shipped without a pre-installed Windows system.
If there is an unexpected error showing up on your self-installed system, MSI recommended first following the installation steps below for your system setup in order to have the most stable system.
*Note (For MSI Handheld Devices):
- An external USB Type C Docking station with at least 65W power supply is needed.
- An external Keyboard/Mouse connected to the docking station helps the setup process.
A. OS Installation
1. Download Microsoft media creation tool and create the installation media (USB drive).

2. Use the Windows installation media to install OS
*Select “OS install” partition to install the OS and DO NOT delete the Driver Partition during the Windows installation. (It will be used in the later driver installation step)

B. Windows Out of Box Experience (OOBE)
3. After installing Windows, users will see the Windows Out of Box Experience when 1st time enter the system, which includes multiple steps and guidance for the basic settings of Windows 11/Windows 10 system.

C. Driver and App Installation
4. After entering Windows, use MSI One Touch function to install all needed drivers and apps.
(A). Go to “My Computer” and open “DriverCD” disk partition.
(B). Launch the “CDSetup”
(C). Select “ONE TOUCH INSTALL” and it will automatically start installing the driver and app.
*System will reboot several times during the installation, please click “OK” button to continue and wait until the installation is complete.
5. After installing the driver and app by using MSI One Touch, run Windows Update to get the latest update.
Click on Windows key > Select Settings > Windows Update, and run the update until the system is up-to-date.
*During the Windows Update, several system reboots might be needed, repeat the step 5 until the system gets all latest update.
D. Confirm the Installation of Driver and App
6. Launch MSI Live Update in MSI Center or MSI Center Pro and scan to check if there is any newer driver or app available.
