When playing high-resolution (4K) videos on the laptop display or the external monitor, the significant differences between the panel’s resolution and the video content’s resolution will be shown with resolution compensation, the Moiré Pattern, which is a normal characteristic. The resolution compensation is usually more clear when playing the video with minimized window.
To avoid the Moiré Pattern, it's suggested to maximize or set the full-screen mode during video playback for the best experience.
However, if a smaller video playback window is in need, refer to the steps below and set the display sharpness or image scaling depending on the rendering graphics to ease the situation.
1. Video Playback with Intel Graphics (Power LED lighting white)
Enter Intel Graphics Command Center and select Video page, then turn off the "Sharpness" option or reduce the "Sharpness Range"
2. Video Playback with NVIDIA Graphics (Power LED lighting Amber)
Right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel, under Manage 3D settings, change the Image Scaling settings to "On" and click on OK to apply the settings.
