As the availability of HDR content and supported panels and monitors continues to grow. HDR becomes increasingly important to the user and the content experience.



The following will introduce how to calibrate the display to ensure the content is more vivid and have an excellent experience with HDR.



Before you start, Be sure to have the HDR-supported panel and monitor and meet the requirement (Refer to FAQ_3637 for details)



 



Install HDR Calibration



1. Download Windows HDR Calibration from Microsoft Store



2. Click Install for installation



 



Enable HDR



Follow the instructions in FAQ: [How to] Enable HDR 



 



How to use Windows HDR Calibration :



1. Launch Windows HDR Calibration



2. Click the "Get Started" button





3. Follow the below steps to finish the calibration



A. Minimum Luminance



(1) Drag the slider left or right until the pattern is no longer visible to calibrate the darkness of the screen



(2) Click the Next button.





B. Maximum Luminance



(1) Drag the slider left or right until the pattern is no longer visible to determine the brightness visibility.



(2) Click the Next button.





C. Maximum Full Frame Luminance Test



(1) Drag the slider left or right until the pattern is no longer visible to determine the brightness visibility.



(2) Click the Next button.





*For steps B and C, please drag the slider to the panel or monitor's maximum HDR level for testing; e.g., MSI Titan GT77 HX 13Vx used the panel supports HDR1000, drag the digit to 1000 and ensure the pattern is no longer visible



D.  Color Saturation



Adjust the color saturation with the Windows HDR Configuration app





E. Review and save new color settings



(1) Confirm the profile name 



(2) Click the Finish button





If you have a multi-monitor setup, move the app to the next monitor, and repeat the calibration instructions.



 



How to remove HDR calibration file by deleteing the color profile:



1. Type "Color Management" on the search bar



2. Select the profile with the corresponding panel/monitor



3. Click "Remove" if you don't like the HDR calibrate results
