Answer

MSI laptops have Intel Virtualization Technology enabled by default. The document includes instructions on how to check virtualization-related settings.

Check if the processor supports Intel Virtualization Technology

1. Search for the model of the laptop’s processor on Intel Product Specification page.

2. Under “Security & Reliability” section, check if Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) and Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) are supported.

Make sure Intel Virtualization Technology and VT-d are enabled in BIOS

Both Intel Virtualization Technology and VT-d are enabled by default. Refer to the steps below to check the settings in the BIOS menu

1. Enter BIOS menu by pressing [DEL] button when MSI logo pops up during the boot-up process.

2. Find “Intel Virtualization Technology” and “VT-d” under “Advanced” tab and make sure both options are enabled.

3. If any of the options are disabled, enable the option and press [F10] to save and exit.

*Note: Some virtual machine software may not be able to run correctly due to conflicts when Intel Virtualization Technology is occupied by other software.
