[Taipei, Dec. 10, 2024] — MSI, a global leader in gaming and computing solutions, proudly
announces the launch of DigiME, an innovative AI-driven motion capture software co-developed with Red Pill Lab. Using the power of artificial intelligence,
DigiME is built to deliver immersive and interactive experiences, allowing users to bring virtual avatars to
life in real-time using just a standard webcam and microphone.
While MSI has long been at the forefront of technological innovation, offering cutting-edge
hardware and software solutions for gamers, creators, and professionals worldwide, Red Pill Lab specializes in
AI-driven virtual and augmented reality solutions.
The combined expertise of these two partners in their fields has been instrumental in
developing DigiME's advanced capabilities.
DigiME Features: Bring Virtual Avatars to Life
DigiME is designed to revolutionize how streamers and content creators interact with their
audiences. Key features include:
- High-Performance AI Computing: Ensures smooth, responsive interactions by processing facial expressions and movements in real-time without any delay. It uses the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) built into the latest Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors to deliver nearly double the performance compared to similar processors without an NPU.
- Effortless AI Motion Capture: Eliminates the need for bulky gear and/or expensive equipment. Users can achieve natural and seamless movement with just a standard webcam and microphone.
- Customized Avatars: Create fully personalized avatars that reflect your unique style. AI-driven tools allow users to design custom avatars, elevating the experience for both you and your audience.
- Real-Time Streaming Integration: Instantly stream your avatar and virtual space across multiple platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Google Meet, Zoom, and more, enabling instant and convenient virtual interactions.
Minimum System Requirements for DigiME: Accessible Technology for All
To run the DigiME software, users need access to a GPU, which is primarily used for 3D material
processing. Systems with integrated graphics can run DigiME, but users can expect better performance when using
discrete GPUs or dedicated graphics cards.
Users will also need a standard webcam for motion capture. Although the virtual lip-sync
feature does work with just a webcam, MSI recommends using a standard microphone to further improve quality.
The DigiME software consists of two components: 3D materials and AI models.
- 3D Models Processing:
- Uses the GPU to render avatars and virtual environments.
- Ensures high-quality graphics and smooth visual performance.
- AI Processing:
- Users can choose to use either the GPU or NPU (Neural Processing Unit) in settings.
- If the device has an NPU, it will be prioritized for 100% of the computation, offering excellent performance and efficiency.
- In the absence of an NPU, the dedicated GPU will handle the computation. In case a dedicated GPU is unavailable, DigiME will rely on the integrated graphics instead.
These flexible system requirements allow DigiME to run on a wide range of devices, making it
more accessible to both casual users and professionals. However, MSI recommends at least a GeForce RTX 2060 and
an Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processor for the best experience.
Building the DigiME Ecosystem
MSI is committed to developing the DigiME ecosystem over time. To this end, it continues
seeking out more partners who can add further value to the ecosystem—paving the way for an AI-driven platform
that’s built for creators and streamers.
Ushering in the Era of AI PCs
As AI-driven tools become ubiquitous, MSI’s vast lineup of products built to foster this new
era of AI PCs and computing is ready to go. It offers a broad range of GeForce graphics cards with tremendous AI
processing potential, 800-series motherboards that support Intel’s Core Ultra (Series 2) Processors with
built-in NPUs, as well as desktops featuring AI-ready processors.
