MSI™ Introducing VIA® KT133A Motherboard -- K7T Turbo-R

MSI™ has announced the release of the MSI™ K7T Turbo-R based on VIA®'s new KT133A chipset. The K7T Turbo-R conforms to the ATX form factor and provides the latest high performance features. Its cutting-edge design supports the latest AMD Athlon™ and Duron™ processors and is geared for performance PC users that require expandability and upgradeability. With support for a 266MHz Front-Side Bus (FSB) and 4x AGP, the K7T Turbo-R offers unprecedented advantages in graphics performance and I/O transfers. Whether you're a business user running multiple applications or a hardcore gamer searching for the most reliable system, the K7T Turbo-R enables you to maximize the benefits of the latest AMD™ processor technology.

Since RAID is becoming more common these days, the K7T Turbo-R is equipped with the Promise Ultra ATA100 controller to provide excellent drive performance and data redundancy. Together with the two on-board IDE controllers by the VIA® 686B South Bridge, the K7T Turbo-R is capable of supporting eight Ultra ATA 100 IDE devices. The K7T Turbo-R has a total of three DIMM slots, and supports up to 1.5GB SDRAM. In terms of expansion slots, the K7T Turbo-R's 6/1/1(PCI/AGP/CNR) expansion slot design should be enough for most users. Two USB ports are mounted at the back of the motherboard together with the serial/parallel ports. MSI™ also includes the necessary USB bracket for the users to take advantage of the second USB controller.

Supports IDE RAID
As a hard drive matrix, RAID enables users to integrate several hard drives to form a unit hard drive at a larger size, aiming to provide error correction (error tolerance) of system data and to enhance system operation. RAID 1 is for data mirroring or data deposit, it enables error correction of system data. While RAID 0 is for stripping, its fast access enhances system operation efficiency extensively.

Supports Ultra ATA100
The Ultra ATA100 accelerates data transfer speed and provides an excellent and faster connection for IDE devices.

Supports 266MHz Front Side Bus

Fuzzy Logic™3
A smart automatic overclocking tool exclusively available from MSI™, Fuzzy Logic™3 automatically adjusts the CPU to its best condition in real time under the OS to accomplish the overclocking function with AI. While system hanging is a common experience in overclocking, Fuzzy Logic™3 will detect the problem and automatically restart the system, making the system always run at its best.

Live BIOS™
An useful software from MSI™, Live BIOS™ examines the BIOS version automatically with the latest version available on the web, links to the site for users to download the latest version of BIOS and updates the BIOS. D-LED™
D-LED™ has a combination of 4 LED light signals to represent 16 different troubleshooting functions during boot up, allowing users to find the cause of any possible failure quickly and easily.

STR(Suspend to RAM)
With STR function, system configuration data is saved onto the system memory when the system is set into suspend mode. The system memory is sustained with minimum electrical power to avoid data loss. When the system is reset back to full operation mode, the original configuration status is restored in just a few seconds.

STD( Suspend to Disk)
With STD function, system configuration data is saved onto the system computer hard disc. The system computer hard disc is sustained with minimum electrical power to avoid data loss.
