USB interface devices are generally used in the transfer of data on desktop computers. This guide shall outline what can be done if a USB device is not recognized.

Loading BIOS Default Settings
1. When the MSI logo shows up, please keep tapping the “Delete” key until you see the “BIOS Setup Utility.” Press F6 to load the defaults settings.
2. Press “F10” to save and exit and then press “Enter.”
Checking to see if a driver is properly installed
In the event that an error message reading “Device Setup Failed” or “Unknown Device” appears in the lower right corner of the computer screen, the recommended procedure is as follows:
1. Right-click on the “This PC” icon on your desktop, then select “Manage” from the drop-down menu.
2. Open “Device Manager.”
3. Find the “Universal Serial Bus controllers” section and then expand it.
4. Look to see if any device appears with a yellow exclamation point beside it. If one does exit, then right-click it.
5. Select “Update Driver.”
6. Select “Search automatically for updated driver software.”Users may at this point select “Browse My Computer for Driver Software”only if the USB file has finished downloading.
7. Close the window after the update has finished.
Checking for hardware issues
- Try using a different USB device to see if the external USB device itself has any hardware issues.
- Plug the device into a different USB port.
