If you encounter issues with Windows Update failure, please follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
- Execute Windows Update Troubleshooter
- Manually Download Windows Update Files
- Use System File Checker (SFC) Tool to Restore and Repair Corrupted System Files
- Update BIOS
- Perform System Restore
Execute Windows Update Troubleshooter
1. In the Windows search bar, type "Troubleshoot settings" and click "Open."
2. Select "Other troubleshooters."
3. Under Windows Update, click "Run" and follow the troubleshooting instructions provided. If the issue persists, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
Manually Download Windows Update Files
1. Firstly, record the name of the failed update. Typically, update names start with "KB," for example: KB5017271. (The following steps use KB5017271 as an example)
2. Open Microsoft® Update Catalog In the search bar, enter the KB version name you want to download and click "Search."
3. In the search results, click "Download" based on your computer's version and system architecture.
4. Click the download link to start downloading the update file.
5. After the download is complete, double-click the file to begin the update installation. If the installation still fails, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
Use System File Checker (SFC) Tool to Restore and Repair Corrupted System Files
1. In the Windows search bar, type "cmd," then click “Run as administrator."
2. In the Command Prompt window, type "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and press Enter.
3. Once the restore operation is successfully completed, type "sfc /scannow" and press Enter.
4. Wait for the SFC scan to reach 100%, then close the Command Prompt and try running Windows Update again.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
Update BIOS
