Check the fan status
DDR4 memory installation procedure
Check if the fan is spinning when the device is switched on. If not, please contact MSI Customer Service directly.
With laptop models that come with discrete graphics, its dGPU fan would only kick in when the temperate reaches its default threshold.
Check if the “Cooler Boost” function is enabled. (This is only available for models with the Cooler Boost button.) If Cooler Boost is not enable, please turn it on and further check if the fan is spinning.
Note: When cooler boost is enabled it would force both CPU and GPU fans to spin at its maximum speed.
Check the current temperature status
Please launch preinstalled MSI Center Application.
Note: MSI Centre App that comes preinstalled may vary by model. Please refer below examples for details.
Check the current temperature reading under Monitor section. The CPU fan will always be constantly spinning, however the rpm will adjust according to the temperature. With laptop models that come with discrete graphics, its dGPU fan would only kick in when the temperate reaches its default threshold
